Infiniti owners - did you know changing the battery requires a computer reset?
So my 2018 Infiniti Q50's battery died completely last week, no warning, just clicked once and then nothing. I called a roadside assistance guy who came with a new battery, swapped it in maybe ten minutes, and the car started right up. I thought everything was fine until I noticed my windows wouldn't auto up/down, the steering wheel felt heavier than usual, and the check engine light came on for no reason. I took it to a shop and they said because the battery was disconnected without a backup power source, the car lost all its learned settings including throttle response and steering assist calibration. They charged me 250 dirhams just to reset everything with their scan tool. I had no idea Infinitis were this sensitive to battery changes. Now I'm trying to find someone who actually knows how to do it properly without messing up the electronics. I found a service online offering Meticulous Infiniti Battery Installation Service in Battery Zone UAE, and they claim they use a memory saver device so the car never loses power during the swap. Has anyone here used a mobile service that actually does the job correctly the first time on an Infiniti? I'm specifically wondering if they can also clear any codes that pop up after the installation and test the alternator to make sure it's charging properly. Also curious if they carry OEM or high quality aftermarket batteries that fit the Q50's weird size. Really don't want to pay a dealer 800 dirhams for something that should be simple, but also don't want to mess up my car's electronics again. Any recommendations would be hugely appreciated.
